What I’m Buying to Socially Distance

I’m finding ways to work out in this new normal we call “socially distancing”.  Gyms are closed, and I had to find new ways to workout without losing my mind.  I subscribed to Obe Fitness, and I’m also considering signing up for Tracy Anderson or Physique 57.  I’m a little technologically naive, and I quickly realized that I needed a HDMI adapter to stream workouts from my laptop to my television.  This $20 gadget has proved so helpful.  I no longer need to squint and tilt my laptop to watch the instructor.  Another alternative is this Google Chromecast, which is a device that you plug into your TV’s HDMI port.  Using your smartphone or computer as a remote control, you can use Chromecast to access video content.

Investing in a quality yoga mat, yoga/barre ball, yoga sliders (I like these for carpet and these for hardwood floors), workout resistant bands (only $15!), Bala bangles (my lifesaver wrist/ankle weights with a cult-like following, but I also like these for $15) are all items that have made their way into my new “home gym”.  I also invested in this cute, easy to disinfect monogram phone case (monogramming is on the inside) and new slippers.

I can’t believe that just one month ago, I was coming back from an amazing girls trip to Miami.  I felt like 2020 was my year to reset, and I was excited for all the good stuff to come.  I would be traveling in less than a month to Las Vegas for a surgical conference with my colleagues.  In the beginning of March, everything came crashing down with the viral pandemic that was heading straight for the U.S like a Category 5 hurricane.  Not only was the world under attack, but hospitals, much like the one I work in, became the front line defense.  We are at war.

I’d be lying if I said I was doing okay.  I have good days and bad days.  The anxiety and fear of the unknown is hard.  Consistency and being grounded is important to me.  Strangely, as the days go on, I’m finding more peace with the unknown.  I have turned to God and prayed every day.  Praying calms my mind.  If there is any silver lining to this chaos, I hope that it makes us kinder and more compassionate people.

Be well, everyone! ❤️  And please do your part to socially distance.

Hi Heather, I’m loving all of your content and posts!
I was curious if you ever sell any pieces that you featured in old posts? I’m interested in the Anthropologie cream cardigan with the lobster on the back from last summer but it’s no longer available on the website.. curious if you’d be interested in selling?

P.S. Thank you for all you do on the front lines- so thankful for all of our medical workers!

Hi! Thank you so much for your comment :) It brightened my day. I do sell some of my pieces on my eBay page (trurnbsn), but I’m holding onto the lobster sweater. It’s one of my favorites!

Sounds good, thanks for your quick reply. I’ll have to check out your ebay page in the future since so many of your featured outfits match my personal style.
