FIGS Catarina one pocket scrub top c/o in deep royal blue – sized up  //  FIGS Livingston scrub pants c/o in deep royal blue – fit is TTS  //  Dansko Sonja clogs in Espresso Oiled – fit is TTS

Chances are if you work in the medical field, you know how difficult it is to find a great fitting set of scrubs.  The unisex cotton, scratchy, and often faded and mismatched brand the hospital provides are just not glamorous.  Factor in a 12 hour overnight shift in uncomfortable “pajamas”, and you’re practically dreaming about changing into the real deal come the morning.

When FIGS, an online retailer supplying high quality, tailored medical apparel, reached out to me, I had no idea that comfortable scrubs existed.  As I researched the brand, I discovered that the brand was created by a fellow Heather and inspired by the founder’s friend — a nurse practitioner.  FIGS is specifically designed with the hardworking medical professional in mind.  Their technical designs are made with antimicrobial, wrinkle resistant, and durable fabrics that are also supremely soft, lightweight, and breathable.

In terms of sizing, the scrubs are definitely more fitted than the traditional unisex style provided by the hospital.  They are super soft and stretchy.  I found that I needed to size up in the top for a roomier fit.  The pants are sooo comfortable!  The fit is inspired by yoga pants and features a wide yoga waistband with contrasting draw-cord.  The fit is true to size and the perfect length for me — I’m 5’4″ for reference.  I absolutely love these pants, and I don’t think I could rave enough about them!  The color is rich and vibrant, and the scrub set washes beautifully.  There’s barely any need for ironing.  They’re truly wash and go!

Disclosure:  Scrubs provided by FIGS for review, however all thoughts and opinions are my own.  Thank you for supporting the partnerships that keep my blog up and running!

New summer reading about my favorite fashion powerhouse.  Gripping family stories are my favorite kind of drama, especially when they involve the legendary fashion designer, Aldo Gucci.  Gucci was my first designer handbag!

Striped pom pom shirt — fit is TTS  //  White denim jeans (only $42!!) — fit is TTS, and I’m wearing the 29″ version (for reference I’m 5’4″) — also available in a tall 33″ version and regular 31″ version  //  Seville espadrille wedges  — fit runs a bit large  //  Black and cream fedora  //  iPhone 6 striped case (on sale!)  //  Lipstick in Schiap

Happy Friday!  It’s supposed to be a beautiful weekend, and naturally, I’ll be spending it in the ER treating patients.  Oh well! Hopefully, everyone stays home and safely enjoys their time outdoors.

How great is this pom pom striped shirt?!  I can already tell that I’ll be getting a lot of wear out of it this season.  It’s the perfect weight for those chillier summer nights.  And these white jeans are simply amazinggg.  I always struggle with finding perfect white jeans — they’re either too stiff, too stretchy, or have those horrible noticeable sheer white seams down the leg — yuck!  These jeans eliminate all of those issues, they’re available in tall, regular, and short lengths, and they’re only $42!!  I hit the summer denim jackpot!

I’m also in love with this Eric Javits Fedora.  It’s a bit on the pricier side, but the quality cannot be beat.  It’s perfectly packable too, so you can squeeze it in your carry-on, and it will pop back into shape just like new.  I can’t wait to pack these goodies for my trip to Vegas next month!

Enjoy the weekend!

Aveeno Healthy Beauty Bazaar

aveeno-blogger-event-1

Last week, I had the pleasure to attend the AVEENO Healthy Beauty Bazaar event in New York City.  As an AVEENO Ambassador, I was excited to attend my first event with AVEENO.  The event was held at the Lowline Lab, the site of the world’s first future underground park.  This re-purposed venue was transformed from an abandoned 1948 New York City trolley terminal into a vibrant community green space using solar technology.  It was truly magical to see all of the exotic floras and lush greenery — there’s over 3,000!  The Lowline Lab is open free to the public on Saturday and Sunday through next year, so if you’re in New York City, you should definitely check it out!

One of the fun demonstrations for the Absolutely Ageless line included making delicious blackberry and dill sparkling water mock-tails.  We simply muddled blackberries, dill, bay leaf, a teaspoon of raw sugar, and a squeeze of lime in a mason jar, then added sparkling water.  It was so good!  After the event, Aveeno sent us home with our own kits, and I can’t wait to recreate this drink at home.  I’ve already stockpiled my favorite La Croix sparkling water in preparation.

My favorite new cleanser.  This cleanser smells incredible, works up into a rich lather, and effectively removes all traces of makeup.  I love to use it with my Clarisonic to deep clean and refine my skin.

absolutely-ageless

Two of my favorite products from the Absolutely Ageless line.  The science behind the line is to help reduce the visible effects of elastin and collagen loss, but to also nourish skin, to keep it looking youthful.  I’ve been using the complete Absolutely Ageless line for the past week, and I’m loving the results.  I’m particularly impressed with the improved texture of my skin.  My skin looks hydrated, plump, and not at all tired.  I’m excited for my new skin journey this summer!
